Our favourite burger mix is getting crumbled, spiced, and sautéed to perfection for the ultimate plant-based taco meat! Give this one a try for Taco Tuesdays... or any night of the week. It's ready in under 20 minutes!
GYR Taco Meat
GYR Burger Mix
⅓ cup oil
¼ cup tahini
1 ¼ cup water + ¼ cup water
2 ½ Tbsp taco seasoning
Empty the GYR Burger Mix, 1 ¼ cup water, oil, and tahini into a medium to large size pan. Mix very well.
Turn heat up to medium-high. Cook about ten minutes stirring often, using a wooden spoon to break up the meat into desired pieces. Cook until the liquid absorbs and the gluten cooks (no longer stringy).
Reduce the heat to medium and add in an additional 1/4 cup of water with 2 1/2 Tbsp of taco seasoning. Cook another 5 minutes.
Use as a base for tacos, fajitas, crunch wraps, and more!
